Over 95% of pet food fed to our beloved pet friends are processed from the inedible parts of animals we humans don't eat. For example; chicken heads, feet, feathers and intestines; cow brains, tongues, esophagi and fetal tissue. Many of these parts are dangerously high in hormones, disease and cancerous components. There is a golden opportunity here for organically produced pet food that offers an alternative to these processed foods.

Leading a dog's life could be a good thing in the United States this year with spending on pets forecast to hit a new high despite fears of a recession and a crimp on consumer spending.

The American Pet Products Manufacturers Association released figures on Tuesday showing pet owners spent an estimated $41 billion on their animal friends last year which was almost double the $21 billion spent in 1996.
